The Now You Know BC Almanac is a printed pocketbook that now comes out twice per year from content creator and TV host, BC Bob (also known as Bob Kronbauer). That's me!
My full-time job is traveling BC and finding true stories about this province's history, its people, and often-quirky tidbits that you won't read anywhere else. This printed almanac is a way for me to get them into your hands so they're not lost to the algorithm.
Touted as a sort of "Reader's Digest for British Columbia," each issue contains around 50 quick, snackable stories, and it's enjoyed by people of all ages in every corner of our province.
The first issue was released in the spring of 2026 and has subjects ranging from the guy who imported camels to be used as pack animals during the gold rush to the nuclear bomb that was somehow lost by the military just off Haida Gwaii to a long-lost pyramid on a small island on Okanagan Lake to the fact that the 90s fad drink, Orbitz, was invented here... and many, many more.
This highly-anticipated second issue will contain just as many gems I've collected and it'll sell as quickly as the first one - it went twice as fast as I had expected, hence me now making a new one twice a year instead of annually as I had planned!
